The monastery and surrounding area
Inspiring setting in Haute Provence
Le Monastère de Ségriès is located 6km from Moustiers-Sainte-Marie; a village ranked as one of the most beautiful in France. Little cobbled streets, quaint shaded squares, small bridges, and waterfalls lend this mountainside village all the picturesque charm for which it is so famous. Founded in the 5th century, Moustiers also owes its reputation to its famous faïence pottery.
The small town of Riez-la-Romaine is located 9km from the monastery. You can visit its medieval Roman ramparts or browse the lively market that is held twice a week. There are a vast number of hiking paths and mountain bikes trails that start from the monastery. Frequent concerts and events are laid on during summer months adding an extra touch of spice to the nearby villages.
